The result will be like the following:

1. Make a new document. For this tutorial I am using 800×40 with a resolution of 72 pixels/inch with Colour Mode set to RGB Colour 8 bit.
2. Make a box that takes up most of the area, but leave around 5 pixels space at the bottom and fill with a gradient of #FFFFFF to #DDDDDD from top to bottom of the selection to make this:
   
3. Now out of the 5 pixels you left select the middle 3 using the single line marquee tool or by using the rectangular marquee tool.
   
4. Create a new layer and fill this with #006699 and set the opacity of this layer to 50%
   
5. Now we have the background for our navigation bar. Select the vertical single line marquee tool and draw a line anywhere vertically down your nav bar. Create a new layer and fill it with #000000. Then delete everything on and below the blue bar to get this.
   
6. Get the rectangular marquee tool and make a small selection at the top like this:
   
7. Go to Select » Feather » Set to 10px then press OK. Press the Delete key around 10 times and set the layers opacity to 50%.
   
8. Add all your text in for your links and duplicate the spacers to go in between the links
   
9. Select the vertical single line marquee tool again and click on one of the spacers to select the whole line.
   
10. Now click Layer 2 which is your blue bar and press Delete then move the bar 1 pixel to the left then delete then 2 pixels to the right then press delete.
    
11. You now have a complete navigation bar.

Frontpage slideshow is a script by Joomlaworks.

The module requires that the script is purchased from Joomlaworks as it contains important files for it to work.

The module which is currently in development can be found at http://code.google.com/p/fpss-drupal/.

The code is still in an early stage but is working and usable, but I would recommend not using it on a production site.

There are a few issues with the module at the moment.

• Module depends on jquery_update
• Module uses the upload module to upload the image for the slide, but this allows any file to be uploaded, so requires some further work.

How does it work

The module adds in 2 new node types (slide, slideshow). Each slideshow node creates a new block which can be used anywhere in your site.

Slides are then assigned to a slideshow. The slideshow node contains most of the important settings such as dimensions and timings but as well as this there is an admin settings page which controls the default settings across the whole site such as the language of the text and the javascript engine.

I have developed the module purely with jQuery in mind. Mootools may work, but is likely to be unstable and buggy.

Once again, note the first paragraph again.  Within Google Chrome it mentions the Safari menu. Safari is not installed on this computer so there is no reason for Safari to appear there other than Google Chrome being related to Safari in some way.

Also take note that yesterday, typing Google Chrome in to Google search, the results were very different.  In less than 1 day Google appears to have got it’s Chrome site to #1.

After some searching after my previous post.

I have found the answer on the AfterDawn forums.

The only difference being that IsoMagic failed to open up the ISO at all.  Instead I used IsoBuster created by Smart Projects.

The software you will need is:

• IsoBuster – (You will need to purchase, as free trial does not allow ability to extract.)
• tsMuxeR - Freeware.
• mkvtoolnix – Freeware (Windows download at the bottom.)

Here are the steps:

1. Open the ISO in IsoBuster.  Navigate to the BDMV folder then the STREAM folder.
2. In this folder you should find a the video called 00000.mts or 00001.mts or something similar.
3. Extract this to somewhere on your harddrive.
4. Once the file has finally finished extracting to the hard drive, open up tsMuxeR.
5. Add the file you just extracted, you should have a window like the following:
   
6. Press Start demuxing. This will take a few minutes depending on the size of the file and your computer.
7. The outcome of this is that we will have seperate audio and video files which we will now merge together using a great tool called mkvmerge.
8. In mkvmerge, we want to select the .ac3 file and the .264 file, so go to Add at the top right and select both these files.
9. mkvmerge will correctly detect what sort of file they are, but you will need to manually set the fps of the video as mkvmerge won’t be able to detect it.  The output from tsMuxeR will tell you the fps, then all you need to do now is select where you want to save the finished MKV and press Start Muxing.
   
10. Like the demux this will take a while depending on the files and the hardware in your PC, once complete you can play the MKV in your media player.

To convert your file use the following command.

ffmpeg -i “C:\videos\videoname.mov” -ar 44100 -ab 96 -f flv “C:\videos\videoname.flv”

• ffmpeg – runs the program
• -i “filename.ext” – input file
• -ar 44100 – audio frequency
• -ab 96 – audio bitrate
• -f flv – force format followed by format
• “newfilename.ext” – output file

I used these settings to convert some 500MB+ Apple Quicktime (MOV) files down to ~20MB FLV which were perfect for uploading to YouTube.

This used to be a Mazda RX7 which was tuned by some scooter company that begins with V that I can’t remember.
