Portal

Portal is a new extremely innotive game that was released with the Orange Box from Valve. I must say it is a very good game to play. I first played most of it through myself then later watching 2 of my drunk friends try to manuever around the game with which they had a lot of difficulty.

The game was surprisingly short but I guess you could say it was expected as I thought it was going to end a lot sooner than it did.

The main highlight of the game for me was not the actual gameplay itself but GLADDoS. The hilarious comments throughout the game made Portal something special that seperated it from all other games. Every gamer who has played Portal will be walking around saying "The cake is a lie....." while hugging their companion cube.

Public beta releases

It seems to me that a lot of Developers/Publishers are releasing beta's of their games before the demo to the public. For Publishers like EA this seems very strange as most of the games they release are buggy as hell anyway and that is after private beta and demo release.

It would seem as though certain companies are either trying to improve their new games to remove as many bugs as possible by doing a public beta or saving money by skipping private beta testing.

Zero Punctuation: Super Paper Mario

Yahtzee is a British-born, currently Australian-based writer and gamer with a sweet hat and a chip on his shoulder.

Every Wednesday a new game review is put on to the Escapist Magazine website.

This week Yahtzee is reviewing Super Paper Mario for the Nintendo Wii.

Bioshock and Securom

Everyone is blaming Sony for the DRM fiasco involving Bioshock but what people seem to be forgetting is that 2K Games actually paid for Securom to be put on Bioshock. Securom has been known for a long time to cause problems.

Upon recieving my copy of Bioshock, I installed which all went fine, then the installer tried to download a patch, so I allowed it. The patch failed to download properly, so I retried....and retried.

At this point I clicked cancel, which resulted in the whole installation being cancelled.

I restarted the computer and tried again, same thing happened again except this time, rather than closing the installer down, I went to the start menu and tried to run Bioshock.

Manhunt 2 banned in UK and Eire and now banned from PS2 and Wii

Isn't this the most ridiculous thing you have seen in a long time?

What the fuck is the point of banning it? All they have done is give the game more of a public highlight than it would of without.

The adult rating is a joke. I believe they said kids should not be playing this game. Well it is adult rated so they can't play it unless someone such as their parents buy it for them. If the parents buy and adult only gave for someone under the age of 18 then that kid is probably already fucked in the head after watching many gorey films and their dads Jenna Jameson porn videos.

Microsoft Flaming

Why is flaming Microsoft so common around the Internet now? I know people have always said Windows is shit and Microsoft are a bunch of evil cunts but it seems everything is wrong with Microsoft. Most references on community forums commonally abreviate Microsoft as M$ or Micro$oft.

So what are you trying to say? Microsoft have lots of money? Yes they do, they have a hell of a lot more than you.

I can only assume that money is the reason everyone flames Microsoft. I think deep down everyone wishes they were in Gates shoes. If you say you don't, then you are lying.

Let's ignore the money factor for the time being and look at other reasons that people may flame Microsoft.

Check your work before you give it to your inept boss

Obviously someone wasn't paying attention when they got a picture of Jessica Simpson and edited it for their magazine.

As reported on Gigglesugar the picture somehow got past the editor of the magazine.
