Defining a new site in Dreamweaver

This tutorial with guide you through how to add your site to your defined site list in Dreamweaver

1.

Open Dreamweaver and go to Site » New Site

2.

For the local info enter your details

Enter in any site name followed by the address of where you want to store the website on your local hard drive.

Although not essential, it can be helpful when looking for broken links to type the URL of your site in.

For the remote info enter your details

Change the Access type to FTP or whatever you are using to access and upload your site.

You can get all the necessary information from whoever is your host.

4.

For the testing server details, this is not compulsory. If you are using ASP or PHP then select it, if not skip to step 5

Your details should be taken from the Remote Info.

5.

This is optional and will be set to index if you do not enter a different homepage

6.

By default the homepage will be index.???

HTML or HTM will be sufficient for most people
