This tutorial with guide you through how to make a simple userbars for your signature:



 

1. Open Photoshop and create a new image using the dimensions 350x19.
2. On your first layer do what you want to do for your background whether you want a gradient of a full colour or a full colour with a shine. For this tutorial I am making a MSN user bar.

For the background I am using the gradient that the MSN Messenger uses:

Depending on how you want to do it. You can either make your own gradient or you can copy and paste the actual picture of the gradient and have it across the userbar. I am making my own in the gradient editor:

I now have this:

Now find a picture of the MSN logo and paste it in. Adjust it so that it fits in properly.

Now add your text. I am just using Veranda although you may want to use a pixelfont which seems to be the most popular for userbars. Create your text layer using white, then duplicate it.

Now make the top most text layer black and nudge it up 1 pixel and left 1 pixel and change the opacity to 30%.
