Text Shadows and Text Reflection

Open Photoshop and create a new document.

Type your text in, then duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl + J

Right Click the layer and select Rasterize Type

Press Ctrl + T to set the transform tool. Right click within the text area and select Flip Vertical.

Press the down key until there is a 1px white(or whatever the background colour is) line.

Change the opacity of the layer to 30%

Using the rectangular marquee tool create a bar that covers the bottom half of the reflected text like so:

Then go to Select » Feather and set to 30px, then press Delete. You should get something like this:

If you wish to add a reflection to the actual text you can do the same but in reverse. Duplicate the background layer and set to 30%, flip it vertically. Ctrl + Click your original text layer and go to Select » Inverse then press Delete. Or if you are just using a white background you can just add a simple shine to the text like this:

Open Photoshop and create a new document.

Type your text in, then duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl + J.

Right click the layer and select Rasterize Type.

Now move the layer below the first text layer.

Press Ctrl + T to set the transform tool. Right click within the text area and select Skew.

Move the top bit of the text to the left. By pressing and holding the left mouse button on the top left corner and dragging to the left, then repeat for the right hand side. Press the Tick at the top right of the screen or press Return.

Press Ctrl + T again and change the height to 50%. And make sure the bottom of the 2 text layers align properly.

Change the shadows opacity to 40-60%. The opacity depends on how intense you want the light to be to the viewer.
