This tutorial with guide you through how to make a nice Abstract Wallpaper:
1. | Open Photoshop and create a new document. I'm using 1024x768. |
2. | Set the Colours to White and Black like this: |

Set the Gradient Tool to these settings:
|
4. |
Now go crazy with the Gradient Tool on the Canvas, do around 50 or 60 strokes. |
5. |
Duplicate this layer and press Ctrl + U |
6. |
Tick the colourize and set to a colour of your choice. |
7. |
Set the Blending Mode to Overlay |
8. |
Create a new layer and do the same again. Go crazy with the gradient tool and set the colour of the layer to another colour not using Ctrl + U. Set this layers Blending Mode to Overlay. |
9. |
Repeat step 8 2 or 3 more times |
10. |
Now on Layers 2, 3, 4 and 5 go to Filter » Render » Difference Clouds. You will have to do these one by one. Render these clouds twice for each of these layers |
11. |
Create a new layer and fill with White, set the Blending Mode to Soft Light |
12. |
Create a new layer and go crazy with the Gradient Tool again. |
13. |
Go to Filter » Render » Lens Flare |
14. |
Set to 105mm Prime with brightness set to 100% |
15. |
Repeat this 2 more times, but don't use Ctrl + F as this will put another Lens Flare on top of the other one, this is not what we want, So go through to Filter » Render » Lens Flare and place the Flare in a different place. |
16. |
Once you have done that go to Filter » Sketch » Chrome |
17. |
Set it to: Detail: 5 Smoothness: 10 |
18. |
Go to Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur and set to 2px |
19. |
Now set the layers Blending Mode to Vivid Light |
